Your number. Your customers.
Each business connects its own WhatsApp number through Meta's Embedded Signup — a single popup, no developer setup. After that, templates, broadcasts and the reply inbox all live inside LigiComms, running on your own WhatsApp Business Account.
Getting connected
- Open the Channels page and click "Connect WhatsApp". A Meta popup appears — this is Embedded Signup, Meta's official one-click onboarding for the WhatsApp Business API.
- Verify your business and register a phone number. The popup walks you through it. Most businesses finish in under two minutes.
- Done. Your WABA (WhatsApp Business Account), phone number and business verification are now live. The credentials are encrypted and stored server-side — the browser never holds them.
The WABA and phone number belong to your business, not to LigiComms. If you ever switch providers, the assets stay with you.
Message templates
Before you can message a customer who hasn't messaged you first, WhatsApp requires an approved message template. LigiComms handles the full lifecycle:
- Create — write the template body with positional variables ({{1}}, {{2}}, etc.), pick the category (Marketing, Utility or Authentication), and preview exactly how it will look on a phone.
- Submit — one click sends the template to Meta for review. Most templates are approved automatically within 15 to 30 minutes. If flagged, Meta's manual review typically takes a few hours to a day.
- Track — the dashboard shows every template's status in real time: Pending, Approved or Rejected. Only approved templates can be used for sending.
Why templates get rejected
Meta rejects templates for specific, fixable reasons. The most common ones, in order of frequency:
- Wrong category. Choosing "Utility" for what is clearly a promotional message. If you are offering a discount, it is Marketing — Meta checks intent before content quality.
- Aggressive language. ALL CAPS, multiple exclamation marks, urgency phrases like "ACT NOW!!!" or "LIMITED TIME OFFER". Keep the tone conversational and professional.
- Shortened or unbranded URLs. bit.ly, tinyurl.com and similar shorteners are flagged as potential phishing. Use your own full branded domain.
- Missing personalisation. Templates without any variable ({{1}}) can look like mass spam. Include at least one — the customer's name is the simplest.
- Over 1,000 characters. Keep the body concise. Mobile screens are small, and Meta enforces this as a hard limit.
If a template is rejected, you cannot edit and resubmit it — create a new version instead, fix the issue, and submit that.
What messages cost
Meta charges per delivered template message, billed in Indian rupees since January 2026. The rates vary by message category:
| Category | Typical use | Meta rate (India) |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing | Offers, launches, re-engagement | ~₹0.78 – ₹0.88 per message |
| Utility | Order confirmations, shipping updates | ~₹0.11 – ₹0.13 per message |
| Authentication | OTPs, password resets | ~₹0.11 – ₹0.13 per message |
| Service (reply) | Free-form replies within 24 hours | Free |
LigiComms deducts a per-message amount from your credit wallet that covers Meta's fee plus a modest margin. If a message fails to deliver, the credit is refunded automatically. You can see every rate on the Your Rates page once logged in.
The inbox — replies in one place
When a customer replies to your broadcast or messages your WhatsApp number directly, the conversation appears in the Sociobox inbox alongside your Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and Threads threads. You can reply with free-form text — no template needed — as long as you respond within WhatsApp's 24-hour customer service window. After 24 hours, you need an approved template to re-initiate.
